Hello world,

I am a geeky knitter. Knitting is not my life, but when I really get in the mood to knit I constantly get frustrated with the lack of knitting patterns which appeal to me. There's some amazing talent and innovativeness out there, but very little of it is my cup of tea.

So basically, what I hope to achieve with this blog is to vainly document my attempt to:

a) learn to knit!
b) knit things that appeal to me- things I can make my geeky friends for their birthdays.
c) Knit pieces that I can wear and do not make me feel middle aged, overly girly or frumpy.

I sincerely doubt my knitting will be amazingly original. I'm certainly not setting out to revolutionise anything except how bemused my friends will be at christmas.

First project: An exceptionally geeky and stereotypical project - le Pi wristband, because Pi is exceedingly useful and makes a nice motif.
